2026 Bloomington Geometry Workshop

The Department of Mathematics at Indiana University is hosting a workshop that brings together mathematicians from diverse backgrounds who are connected by an interest in geometry.

Speakers:

The workshop will begin on Friday, April 17th, at 4:00 pm with a colloquium by:
  • Amie Wilkinson (University of Chicago)

The workshop continues on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19, with an additional lecture by Amie Wilkinson as well as talks by:

  • Grigori Avramidi (Max Planck Institute for Mathematics)
  • Prasuna Bandi (University of Michigan)
  • Andrey Gogolev (Ohio State University)
  • Dan Margalit (Vanderbilt University)
  • Aleksander Skenderi (University of Wisconsin)
  • Wendy Wang (University of Chicago)

Travel Support:

With support from the National Science Foundation, we will help defray travel expenses of many participants.
Priority will be given to graduate students and early career participants.
We especially encourage the participation of those who belong to under-represented groups.

In April, hotels in Bloomington can fill up quickly. Please book your room in advance.

We have reserved a block of rooms for conference participants at the Indiana Memorial Union for $152-$179/night. These rooms will be held until March 17th. If you want to take one of these rooms, please say so on the registration form, and we will book your room directly.

  • Restaurants and coffee: There are many restaurants near the University, with a wide variety of cuisines including:
    Afghan, Burmese, Eritrean, Indian, Moroccan, Thai, Tibetan, and vegan.

  • Banquet: We plan a fine-dining opportunity for participants and friends on Saturday night.
